Maybe It’s You

Maybe It's You

The Saint Ursula Tales, Book One

Jay Heron

Work hard, get straight As, and do whatever it takes to get into a respectable college. It’s a mantra all high school seniors are acquainted with. Although, most of them would never take it as literally as four students at the Saint Ursula Institute have. No, for aspiring architect Parker, nerdy athlete Eric, teacher’s pet Shawna, and former cheerleader Addison, “whatever it takes” entails far more than they could have imagined.

The biggest obstacle on their roads to an Ivy League college is Mrs. Kaufmann, a mathematics teacher from hell. After failing her class repeatedly, the four students gather forces. They devise a plan to pull her out of the equation, buckle up, and do “whatever it takes”. However, this comes with an emotional toll none of them are prepared for. It may even be worth it, if everything goes as planned…

One year later, anonymous threats start coming in. Someone knows what happened, and wants them to confess. Soon, the blackmailer shows they have no trouble following through with their violent threats. The four friends—the ones that are still alive—have a choice to make: turn themselves in, or put their fates in the hands of their tormentor.

Unless they find a way to turn this lose-lose situation around before it’s too late…

Ezra and the Great Bin Jah Meen

Ezra and the Great Bin Jah Meen

R. D. Stevens

Illustrations by Juliette Caron

Eleven-year-old Ezra Ben Castle of 23 Somerset Drive isn’t your regular type of hero. He has a super-fast brain, a miniature schnauzer called Parker for a best friend, and a lingering sense that he’s always been a little bit...elsewhere.

Primary school is almost over, but when the last day of term arrives, Ezra’s granny is taken ill. With his adoptive parents preoccupied, non-stop rain soaking the garden, and the looming torture of secondary school to come, the summer holidays are definitely not looking good.

Meanwhile, in the distant world of Ankh Bah, the mysterious and powerful Great Bin Jah Meen has appeared out of nowhere, stopping the sun in the sky and using his dark magic to cast all who live there into the depths of anger and despair. Desperate for help, the Sahs—Ankh Bah’s small, furry residents—end up somewhere unexpected.

When a half-sized steam train bursts out of a spinning portal at the bottom of Ezra’s garden and two Sahs hop out, his dreary summer suddenly looks much more interesting, even if peril awaits…

The Unforgivable Crimes of Dana Cooper

The Unforgivable Crimes of Dana Cooper

P. Daniels

When Special Agent Jonathan Howard gets the call that serial sexual sadist Jeffrey Marks has been caught, he immediately travels to Rappaport, North Dakota, to confront the man. Jonathan has been on the Marks case for years with no breaks and a growing list of victims.

Entering the interrogation room, Jonathan is confused. It’s not Jeffrey Marks he finds here…it’s his recent victim, Dana Cooper.

Jonathan struggles to make sense of this twist in the case. Dana Cooper has murdered Jeffrey Marks in a fashion more brutal than anything Marks did to his victims, to an extreme that seems almost inexplicable. Before he can gather more information, Dana escapes custody and soon begins a preternatural vendetta, blazing a trail of death through several states, putting Jonathan in the last position he ever thought he’d be in.

He has to capture victim, instead of perpetrator, for unspeakable crimes that are more harrowing than anything he’s seen before, and there’s no predicting where she’ll strike next…
