Dakota Jackson

Dakota Jackson is the award-winning, Kirkus-recommended author of The Other Side of the Looking-Glass. She published a short story in the Penmen Review in 2023 and was twice shortlisted in the Six Word Wonders contest.

Dakota writes fantasy and contemporary young adult fiction that will always feature queer characters, complex families, and a whole lot of angst before the hopeful ending. Her mission is to shine light upon queer identities like her own and show readers that fear, confronted head-on, can give way to hope.

Dakota has an MFA in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Film Studies from the University of Connecticut.

When she isn’t reading or writing (or pretending to do one of the two), Dakota loves Zumba, kickboxing, rearranging her bookshelf, and binging a good anime.
